Three dead, two in hospital after car accident in Kallista, south-east of Melbourne

Three people died after a car accident in Calista, southeast of Melbourne.

A Victoria police spokesman said there were five people in the car.

"It is believed that the car crashed into a tree that fell and left the Sherbrooke road soon after 2:30 p.m.," the spokesman said.
Two men and a woman died at the scene.

A child was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital and another woman was taken to the hospital on the street, both of whom were non-fatal wounded.
Sherbrooke Road must be closed in two directions between Owen Street and Braeside Street for a certain period of time.
